For centuries, composers have used stories and historical events as major catalysts in their attempt to inspire and affect musical awakenings and appreciation within their listeners. Storytelling offers its own tale as it weaves together the virtuosity and musical sensitivity of violinist Gareth Johnson and pianist Heather Coltman.
At the age of 24, Gareth Johnson was awarded 1st Place winner of the 2010 Sphinx Competition. He has graced the stages of concert halls from the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia as well as the United States. He holds a B.A. in Music Performance and M.A. in Music Performance at Lynn University Conservatory of Music, Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to Elmar Oliveira, principal teachers have included Sergiu Schwartz, Almita and Roland Vamos, Kurt Sassmannshaus, Yuly Ilyashov, and Gayla Rothermich.
